THE PROJECT

For Dennis DJ’s performance at The Town festival in 2025, the scenographic project explored the concept of the artist as the central operator of a grand machinery coordinating the dance floor’s dynamics. To overcome the typical distance of large-scale stages, we created a ‘stage within a stage’ consisting of a central circular platform for the DJ booth, surrounded by elevated decks where a portion of the audience was positioned, encircling the DJ with the crowd’s energy. We adopted exposed iron and straight lines as an aesthetic to reinforce the industrial look, using strategically placed lighting to highlight the structure’s geometry and enable dynamic light effects. Due to the rigorous turnaround schedule between sets, the project was made viable through independent modular structures, allowing the entire scenic apparatus to be assembled and locked in place within just one hour, ensuring the imposing look of robust machinery without compromising the speed required by the festival’s logistics.
